Privacy Notice
Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Bangkal, Makati City ("the Parish") respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what rights you have, in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
What we collect
- Account details: full name, email address, password (stored only in scrambled form), and optionally your contact number and address.
- Service requests: the details you enter on baptism, wedding, funeral Mass, confession and blessing request forms. These can include names, dates of birth, family members' names, religion, address and contact number.
- Donation records: the type and amount of donations you record on the site.
- Technical information: your IP address and sign-in attempts, used only to protect accounts from abuse.
Why we collect it
- To create and manage your account.
- To process and schedule the services you request and contact you about them.
- To record donations and issue acknowledgements.
- To keep the website and your account secure.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Only authorised parish staff and administrators can see your information, and only as needed for their work. We share it with others only if the law requires it, or with your consent. Email delivery and the website host act on our behalf and may process data only for that purpose.
How long we keep it
- Account information: while your account is active. Accounts with no sign-in for 3 years are deleted or anonymised.
- Service request records: kept for as long as needed for parish records. Sacramental records are permanent church records.
- Password reset links: expire after 1 hour and are deleted within a day.
- Sign-in attempt logs: deleted after 30 days.
- Backups: rotated and overwritten within about 5 weeks.
How we protect it
Passwords are hashed, forms use security tokens, sign-in attempts are limited, sessions end after inactivity, uploaded images are checked, and the database is backed up regularly. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will notify affected people and the National Privacy Commission if a serious breach occurs.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, object to its use, withdraw your consent, or have it deleted, subject to records we are required or permitted to keep. You can correct your details yourself on your profile page. For anything else, contact the parish office using the details below. You also have the right to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
Consent
By ticking the consent box when you create an account, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described here. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting the parish office, though this may mean we can no longer provide online services to you.
